Applications are now open for students to apply to study abroad for a semester in 2023/24.

Studying abroad is an incredible opportunity to experience a new country and culture while continuing your degree.

There are various options for studying in the EU, as well as for travelling further afield to one of our partner institutions in Asia or North America via the Turing Scheme.

All our study exchanges are faculty/school and, in some cases, course-specific, ensuring that you have suitable choices to match your academic pathway and receive credits for your study.

Courses are normally delivered in English, with local language courses also available, or in some cases required. Applications for study exchange places are competitive, and you will be selected based on your academic performance, a personal statement and ambassadorial qualities.

Funding support

Turing Scheme funding

Turing Scheme funding provides grants to students to help cover specific costs incurred when undertaking the BU Study Exchange Programme.

Subject to the bid for Turing Scheme 2023/24 funding being successful, students who are accepted onto the BU Study Exchange Programme will be able to apply for Turing Scheme funding to support you while you’re overseas. More information about Turing Scheme funding for 2023/24 will be released on our webpages between June and July 2023, and all successful study exchange applicants will be notified once the information is released. Find out more about the Turing Scheme on our Turing Scheme webpage.
