Our industry links underpin everything we do – from teaching to research and professional practice.

These collaborations also form a key mechanism within our knowledge exchange (KE) strategy, the catalyst for BU’s fusion strategy – bringing together excellent education, research and professional practice to inspire our students, graduates and staff to enrich the world.

That’s why we’re proud to have working relationships with organisations ranging from NHS trusts to charities, small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and major financial institutions such as JP Morgan and Barclays.

We also work closely with our local Premier League club AFC Bournemouth, including sponsoring all of the club’s girls’ teams, and have forged excellent relationships with multinationals such as Microsoft, IBM and Mercedes-Benz through placements and graduate recruitment.

These are partnerships that benefit businesses and our students in equal measure – and we’re also among the top-five universities collaborating with graduate start-up companies*.

Engaging with us

BU is committed to continuing our partnership work to support economic growth and innovation across the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (DLEP) region.

A major part of this involves ensuring regional businesses and organisations can access the business-critical information and research we can provide as a higher education institution. These insights can help to model business outcomes, ratify investment decisions, consider environmental impact, or assist in product development.

You can contact us directly at [email protected] to discuss potential partnership, research or knowledge exchange projects – or visit our Knowledge Transfer Partnership and funding opportunities pages to find out about how we can help you access funding.
