This is your opportunity to be part of a new, exciting project, Inclusive Curriculum Evaluation, funded by BU.

The aim of the Inclusive Curriculum Evaluation project is to improve the inclusivity of BU’s curriculum and how that is experienced by students of different ethnicities. To do this, the project team employs Student Reviewers to review units specifically for inclusivity.

In higher education, it is established that students from ethnically diverse backgrounds often don’t succeed as well as white students. This is a sector-wide problem, and here at BU we want to make sure that everyone has the best chance to succeed. This project contributes towards this target.

The project is due to start in early 2023, and we want you to get involved, now! If you want to work with us to make the BU curriculum the best for everyone, view the job advert and job description and apply by Friday 9 December 2022 (please note extended closing date).

Past projects

A successful pilot project took place earlier this year. Students took part in a Student Reviewers project where they were asked to attend lectures and seminars in each faculty to review the unit in terms of diversity and inclusion.

The Student Reviewers then shared their findings by producing a summary report for each unit. Unit Leaders were then invited to respond to the student reports. The experience for both the Student Reviewers and the Unit Leaders has been very positive.
