We’ve got something for everyone when it comes to playing badminton.

If you’re a talented, highly-skilled player and are successful in trials, you’ll represent BU in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and trophy competitions. We have both men’s and women’s teams who make up TeamBU Badminton, our community of Performance Sport badminton players.

But it’s not just our Performance Sport student athletes who enjoy playing badminton while they study with us.

Our Campus Sport Badminton Club is one of the most popular here at Talbot Campus. Led by our performance Coach, Martin Wells (below), this is the first step on the development pathway to Bournemouth University’s Performance Team but is also for those who like a little coaching and competitive match play on a weekly basis. This is suitable for intermediate players with previous badminton experience.

Badminton is also one of the sports available to all our students and staff on a more casual basis through our Campus Social Club sessions. These are suitable for players of all abilities, whether you’ve been playing for years or have never picked up a racket, the focus is on having a fun and friendly hit and meeting new people! Register as a Social Club Member, with a one-off fee, at the start of the year and gain access to 56 weekly sessions on an annual basis!
