Foundation year: We have a foundation year option for UK students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course. This additional year of study will give you a grounding in the media & communication skills required for this course, building your confidence, knowledge and skills for further study. After successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the full degree. 

For September 2023 entry: In order to take advantage of new approaches to learning and teaching, as well as developments in industry to benefit our students we regularly review all of our courses. This course is currently being reviewed and revised to reflect many of the contemporary political challenges we face in the world today, from fake news and climate change denial to global activism and international conflict. Drawing on the strengths of the existing course and applying knowledge and ideas to the real-world environment in new and innovative ways, the revised course will equip students with a range of skills and experiences in readiness for graduate careers in wide variety of fields. We will update this page in June 2023 to give you full information about what we will be offering once the review process has concluded.

Study our BA (Hons) Politics and Economics degree and you will understand all aspects of political and economic life, from the very global to the grassroots. You will gain skills to allow you to be reflective, critical and strategic. You'll be ready to take on the challenges of a career in frontline politics, in research and advisory roles for charities, parties or activist groups, in diplomacy and global political affairs within governments, global organisations or for any organisation seeking politically literate and media-savvy employees.
